Terms
Last updated November 6, 2026
The Dahl Files is operated by Activ8, LLC (“we” or “us”). By buying or downloading anything from the Dahl Files, you agree to these terms.
Fiction
The Dahl Files are fiction. The stories, characters and puzzles are written with AI and tested for a single fair solution. Any resemblance to real people is coincidental.
Buying
Checkout and file delivery happen on Payhip, and Payhip’s terms apply to the checkout itself. Prices are in US dollars. Files are delivered instantly by download link. Nothing ships.
What you can do with the files
- The Missing Ledger (the free case): print it and share it freely, as long as you don’t change it or sell it.
- The Lantern Room and Case Club cases: for you and the people you play with. Print as many copies as your group needs.
- A Killer Cup of Cocoa, Home edition: for your own parties with family and friends, up to 20 players.
- A Killer Cup of Cocoa, Office / Team edition: for events within one workplace or organization, up to 40 players per game.
Please don’t resell the files, post them publicly, upload them to file-sharing sites, or use them to run paid events for other people. For anything else, ask: anne@thedahlfiles.com.
Case Club memberships
Memberships renew automatically, monthly or yearly, until you cancel. Cancel anytime in your Payhip account. Files you’ve downloaded are yours to keep; access to the members’ page ends when the membership does. If we ever change the price, we’ll tell members before it applies to them.
Gifts
The Case Club gift is a one-time purchase of three cases, delivered by email to the person you name, with Cases 2 and 3 sent on their release dates. It isn’t a membership and doesn’t renew.
Refunds
See the refund policy.
Ownership
The cases, the Host Console and everything on this site are © 2026 Activ8, LLC. Buying a file gives you the license above, not ownership of the content.
The legal bit
We work hard to make every file work and every puzzle fair, but the files are provided as they are. To the extent the law allows, our liability for any problem is limited to what you paid for the product. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Utah.
